I hate to toot our own horn, but the iVillage staff is full of style. Our hallways might as well be runways and the conference rooms, fashion exhibits. Day in and day out, I always find myself saying to coworkers, "I love your [fill in the blank]." So, I've decided to do routine posts about the fierce outfits that strut up and down the iVillage office.
After all, such fabulous finds should be shared!
My latest victim (two times over because she's just that fabulous) is Ali Gray, our Entertainment associate producer. What I love about this ensemble? That Ali is sporting three trends at once in perfect harmony.
She is rockin' a fun plaid shirt (which adds a nice pop of color) with a comfy boyfriend sweater-vest. And don't even get me started on the fab riding boots (every girl should have a pair in her closet for fall). They're perfect for casual-and-cozy sweater days.
Here's the breakdown on Ali's trendy fall ensemble:
- Plaid tunic (H&M)
- Sweater vest (Old Navy)
- Skinny jeans (Old Navy)
- Boots (J.Crew)

No, we didn't plan it--we swear! Jennifer Merritt, another iVillage editor, and I both came into work today rockin' our trendy boyfriend blazers. After all, it is meeting Thursday. Great minds think alike.
While I sported my boyfriend blazer with black leggings, an edgy tunic-tank and black suede booties, Jennifer rocked hers with black leggings, a striped sweater-dress and flats. Both work in very different ways!
Interested in rockin' the boyfriend blazer this fall, too? Here are some do's and don'ts to keep in mind:
Do wear them with leggings.
Don't actually wear your boyfriend's (or husband's) blazers--they'll look too boxy!
Do wear them with skinny jeans.
Don't wear them with wide-legs or flares.
Do wear them with boyfriend jeans (if you're going to be pairing them with feminine heels, that is).
Do wear them with tunics.
Do wear them with dress shirts.
Don't wear them with tight and fitted tanks and tees.
Do wear them with frilly and flowy tops.
Do wear them with booties and platform heels.
Do wear them with flats.
Don't wear them with high boots. Doing so will break up your proportions the wrong way and shorten your legs.
Do roll up the sleeves if it has a white lining.
Don't roll up the sleeves if it doesn't have a nice lining with a contrast in color.
Don't wear the ones with shoulder pads. That's so 15 years ago!
Do accessorize with lots of jewelry to femme up the ensemble.

The team partied last night in celebration of our Entertainment channel's super-fabulous re-launch. So gorgeous! Everyone, cocktailed it up among lots of laughs. Post party, Ali Gray, our new entertainment associate producer, found herself at her boyfriend's. The result: her morning-after look.
So nevermind that Ali wore the skirt two days in a row (tee hee hee), the rest of the ensemble was put together so fabulously, we wouldn't have known she was repeating if she hadn't told us.
Here's the breakdown on Ali's chic morning-after look:
- Black patent leather flats from Nine West (the walking shoes she had in her purse last night)
- Blue skirt (repeated) from Express
- Cozy cardigan from H&M
- Button-down shirt "borrowed" from boyfriend by Hugo Boss

Being an editor of Beauty & Style is no easy task, especially when you're expected to look trendy and stylish every single day. People around the office look to Ysolt for style advice and she always delivers! Today she looked sophisticated and summery in this off-white dress and cardigan, but avoided looking like she was in a wedding by adding a pop of color with some bright orange pumps. Her relaxed but polished hair pulled the whole look together.
Want to steal this look? Here's an item-by-item breakdown:
- Bone-colored tube dress from Ann Taylor, $98
- Cropped cardigan from Forever 21, $11.99
- Orange pumps from BCBG, $80
- Diamond necklace, a gift from mom
- Silver ring from Nordstrom, $20
