Week 4 of The Fashion Show (on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo) involved a challenge in which the contestants created an outfit based around a pair of shoes--my favorite! Reco, the feisty designer from Chattanooga, TN, had to create an outfit based around Yves Saint Laurent's fierce cage booties.

He leveled out the craziness of the shoes with a simple little black dress (which we will come to know as "The New Black Dress") and an equally crazy cage hairpiece. Reco understood that the YSL shoes are very architectural, and he kept that quality throughout the outfit by creating a simple dress with serious structure. The lines on the bodice and the voluminous skirt make the LBD stand out, while the silhouette still comes across as clean and simple. For the finishing touch, Reco added a similarly cage-like hairpiece to balance the outfit and create symmetry. The hairpiece is not overwhelming, but it perfects the look and matches the structure of the cage shoes.

Of course, Reco won the challenge with this (literally) killer look. I know I fell in love with the ensemble.
