If Susan Boyle Were to Get a Makeover ...

... It would be a whole lot of fun!

If you haven't caught the clip of her on Britain's Got Talent, you must! I watched it and cried like a baby--it was truly uplifting and inspiring. Who knew that beautiful voice would come out of such a modest woman? Even the judges and audience were floored.

Now that Susan Boyle's got this newfound fame, I'd like to propose a little style revival. As much as I love-love-love Susan and all that her beautiful voice has to offer, let's face it, the entertainment industry can be super-critical (and superficial, for that matter). If you're not "with it," even the biggest talents won't go very far.

So, I asked style experts how they would Hollywood-proof Susan's look, and here's what they had to say:

No Matronly Clothes + Good Bras
"She is dressing too matronly. We would like to help her in this area--life is too short to be frumpy," say Deborah Boland and JoJami Tyler, Glam Gals image experts. "We would give her an outfit that is age-appropriate, elegant and stylish. She has a cute figure that we could show off better--[let's] get those breasts into a good bra."

Bold Brows + A Monochromatic Look
"I would recommend a consultation with a great aesthetician to give those bold brows some definition and shape," says Gretta Monahan, the new co-host of Bravo's Tim Gunn's Guide to Style and frequent style guru on The Rachael Ray Show. "While contrasting color pumps and tights [which Susan wore on the show] are a big trend right now, Susan may want to try a more monochromatic look next time she hits the stage."

Lighten the Hair + Add Extensions
"I would lighten her hair and add extensions that drop the length below her jaw," says Paul Labrecque, a prominent hair stylist who's styled Renee Zellweger, Heidi Klum and Felicity Huffman. "I would also soften the curl in her hair."

A Touch of Makeup + More Color
"I love the homespun appeal of her style! With a bit of makeup, a new hair style, a splash of color to her wardrobe and that amazing personality, Susan Boyle will be more than red carpet ready," says Steve Kemble, fashion expert and contributor to US Weekly's Fashion Police.

Now it's your turn to weigh in! Would you give Susan Boyle a makeover?

Yes, and she strikes me as the type of person who would get a huge kick out of getting a makeover. I love her dancing eyes when she laughs! Her voice is amazing and she's definitely got the showmanship. She certainly seemed so confident and at ease on the stage, even though she admitted to being scared.

I don't know why you want to change her. She is who she is. It's pathetic that no-one can stay how they are anymore! She is 47 years old for goodness sake. She does not need a makeover at her age. Maybe her eyebrows need plucked, but she does not need make-up or a new hairdo! I think you really should be ashamed of yourself.!

She doesn't need a makeover. She has the voice of an angel. Leave her alone to be who she is, a woman with guts and a sense of humor.

I would give her a makeover if she asked for it. I mean she doesn't need extreme makeover or anything close to that. Just a brow trim and a trip to the hair salon. I wouldn't go as far as make up and the whole nine, only if she was okay with it. If she did, I would do the basics mascara and gloss. She is who she is and no one is trying to change that just enhance it.

Oh my gosh! I agree she would get a kick out of it. She's 47, she's not dead! A lot of women haven't been taught how to apply makeup or figure out what clothing styles looks best on them. She just needs a little education!

Yes! I would give her a makeover. She needs a makeover. Why wouldn't, anyone, want to improve themselves? I would suggest
an extreme makeover.

She doesn't need the makeover. Our own American Idol does. This beautiful woman is living proof that the music industry needs to focus solely on TALENT. Not weight, not age, not looks. TALENT. And yet American Idol still has that moronic age limit where no one over 28 is allowed to compete. Well, WAKE UP AMERICAN MUSIC INDUSTRY! It's time we got rid of the no talent hacks like Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Clay Akin, and Kelly Clarkson and got some REAL talent out there. Such as this lovely voiced and spirited woman.

TALENT not looks matters! PERIOD! It's time for the age limit to be completely REMOVED from American Idol!

I agree with Space cowboy's comments. Just a freshening up would be fun I think. It's not changing the person within.

Absolutely! Her time has arrived, it is time she seizes her opportunity. To improve oneself is to pay respect to oneself. It is not a matter of vanity but a time to rejoice our inside beauty as well as our outside beauty. Her beauty withing has been in hiding for too long. For crying out loud it is only a makeover, she will still be true to herself and her beauty from within.

Kathy said:

You bet I would. I would love the opportunity and I'm sure she would too. Nothing outrageous, just some grooming.

Oh my! I nearly choked at the comment that she's 47 and doesn't need a makeover at her age. 47 is not OLD. She strikes me as the kind of woman, like most of us, who would get a kick out of a makeover. She may not want one of those extreme makeovers where they do surgery but a trip to the hair salon and some clothing and makeup tips are fun no matter how OLD we are. Go Susan!!

I think that this page is embarrassing! How can we be so shallow to suggest that Boyle needs to be improved just because she doesn't fit within your standards of beauty. Why does she need to blend in and look like the next person. And to "why wouldn't everyone want a makeover" - Well maybe they have enough self esteem to be satisfied with themselves just the way they are.

I think she would enjoy a makeover. Why not emphasis the beauty God has given to all of us. For those who say that she doesn't need or want a makeover, why don't you go on a job interview in a t-shirt and sweats with bed head. I know when I'm feeling a little down I put on something nice, makeup and I instantly feel better because I know I look good. Besides it is fun to wear new clothes and have a new look. She has a beautiful voice and personality. The same way she enhanced her voice by practicing she can enhance her natural beauty with a few tweaks or whatever SHE wants to do!

Maybe a very little one..Nothing drastic..Her motto is..."I want to stay true to myself"...In today's day and age, most people (not all) become larger then life, AND they act like it. Susan has a beautiful heart, and that is better then any looks in the world..90% of us don't look thin, and blonde, with beautiful blue eyes..it's so refreshing to see someone like Susan make a HUGE splash in the entertainment world..She won my heart after the 2nd word....I hope and pray she doesn't listen to all these people who say..make over this, make over that..SUSAN..STAY THE WAY YOU ARE..get your hair done that's about it..:-))) I admire you, I love you, and you have the voice of an Angel..Thank you so much for sharing it with us..I have listened to that song about 200 times now, and I still cry...You have captured the hearts of millions..KEEP GOING Sweetie!!!!!!!!!!
