SJP hangs up her Manolos
In the May issue of Glamour, fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker dishes on her new affordable fashion line, other celebrity designers and her new affinity for sandals over Manolos. Carrie Bradshaw fans, don't expect Bitten to deliver haute, quirky fashion for under $20 either. Here are the highlights from the interview.
On her very basic fashion line: “They’re not setting a trend. We’re not Balenciaga. They’re well-made clothes that feel of-the-moment."
Why she didn't name the line after herself: “I was embarrassed to. I don’t want the line to be about me. I’m not pretending that these are clothes from my closet. Or that this is Carrie Bradshaw.”
On living life as SJP and Carrie Bradshaw: “I’ll go to the market, and women will say to me: ‘Let me see your shoes.’ And then I show them I’m wearing flip-flops. I say, ‘I’m old now. I can’t run around in heels when I go to the market for my son’s yogurt.’”
On other celeb designers "Madonna’s line for H&M is extremely directional, provocative and sexy. I don’t know J.Lo’s line well, but I know that it’s much more trendy than Bitten. L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani is more avant-garde, definitely high fashion. But I don’t want to do that for women because that’s not really their lives."
Bitten hits stores June 7. In the image featured from Glamour's photo shoot, SJP wows in a Chanel jacket, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Bitten Sarah Jessica Parker t-shirt and jeans. We're digging it!

Isn't she just the cutest? I just loved her as Carrie. She is a wonderful contemporary fashion icon. I can't wait to see the clothes in the movie if there ever is one!
SPJ IS THE BIGGEST TREND SETTER. Absolutely love her. She could wear a brown paper bag and still could hit the run way, just because of her killer shoe style.

What's funny about Monolo Blahnik, is that his shoes have been around for some time. Only did his name become recognizable, when Carrie donned them every Sunday night. Much like Loubitan, Padovan, and Wietzman... these designers have incredible selections of stillettos, pumps and strappys. Good for SJP, and best luck to her new clothing line.
I love Luciano Padovan's, they are so sleek and sexy. Recently purchased some snakeskin pumps with these diamond crystals on the top... they seriously make any outfit! Check out Bleu Clothing's website, that's where I got them in LA.
