Can We Talk?

BS_joan_157.jpg

Oy - I was recently at the Bill Blass fashion show and I noticed a strange looking person - or was it a squirrel - or a hybrid of a monkey and a lion? I couldn't really tell from afar. In any case, I found out later that it was Joan Rivers.

Can you please look at her? I'm going to pin this photo up on my bathroom mirror and every time I contemplate getting a nip or a tuck, I'm going to look at it. And then I'm going to change my mind.

I wonder what she thinks when she looks in the mirror? Poor thing.

It's funny how the more work many celebrities get done, the worse they look. I mean - Nicole Kidman is so beautiful and yet lately she is looking...freakish. As if she doubled up on her normal botox injections.

What do you guys think?

I'd say that she looks like a monkey who fell in a vat of bleach and then found some random wig out of a second-hand wig shop and put it on.

I don't think she looks like a monkey at all! But it does look like this beautiful woman's face was just stretched and tucked to the point that it doesn't quite sit on her bone structure correctly anymore. :(

I too have noted the ever entertaining irony of plastic surgery. In the age when we're hailing beautiful older women like Streep, Mirren and Dench...Women less concerned with appearance and more with substance...still we're seeing this growth of nipped, tucked, botoxed, stretched, pulled faces and bodies which recieve nothing but criticism. The effort to look better and younger 9 times out of 10 has the OPPOSITE effect. If Kidman hadn't gotten work done, I wouldn't have even noticed her aging. It wasn't until she re-immerged with chipmunk cheeks that I realized "Hey, she's getting on in years, I guess". The public is getting more and more savvy at telling when someone's had work done. You're not fooling anyone, people.

She's well on her way to looking like Michael Jackson, I think. gokarm, I agree. If people would let themselves age naturally they'd probably look better.

I agree; I have also noted recent ads for making people look younger, and the before picture oftentimes looks better than the after picture - in fact some of the after pictures look hideous!

It's to bad that women in hollywood are so insecure. Natural beauty is best. I'm not against a little "help". Why don't women know when to stop? Looking freakish must be in.

I wish Dolly Parton, of all people, would just leave her face ALONE. She has always been a naturablly beautiful woman and I cringe when I see her now, looking like a lizard.

What ever happened to "Aging Gracefully". More open dialog in the media might help the sheep in the viewing audience understand Aging and that is OK. Comestic Surgery is a business for profit. Instead of have a face or body tucked, get involved with Habitat for Humanity or give to the needy in some philanthropic method.

If you look at other photos of Joan Rivers you'll see that this pic is actually a GOOD one of her! She looks like some kind of doll out of a horror movie. Considering she and her daughter are two of the most catty, mean women in Hollywood, I don't have much pitty for her. It's like she's living some kind of self-deception. If she actually woke up from her trance she'd probably try to rip out all of that silicone from her face. Poor thing only becuase she's a fellow human and obviously in poor shape emotionally.

I think you infringed on a copyright law when you titled your blog "Can We Talk". You might want to remove it before you pay Joan Rivers a fine.

I think the obsession with youth and "thinness" is absolutely ridiculous and has gotten way out of hand! WE, the normal, aging gracefully, women with curves are the beauties of the world - not the plucked, primped, and STRETCHED freaks we see in movies, magazines, and TV. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who has noticed the ever freakish looking Nicole Kidman's appearance. She looks like an overstretched vampire and she's WAY TOO thin! I can't imagine these women actually thinking they look beautiful.

i think she looks pretty good I hope she reads this darling you look marvelos.Just remember its your life.Dont listen to none of there bunk.
